Child Safety Policy
Version 0.3 · effective 2026-10-03
Zero tolerance
Turnly has zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation and abuse, and for any use of the service that puts a child at risk. An account involved is banned immediately, the evidence is preserved, and the matter is reported to the relevant authorities.
How the product is built to prevent harm
- It is not a messaging service. Businesses cannot write messages to customers, and customers cannot contact each other.
- Customers cannot send photos, videos, voice notes or documents. Any media sent to a queue number is ignored and never stored.
- There are no customer profiles, no directory and no way to search for people.
- We do not ask for, store or infer anyone’s age.
- Every business is reviewed against a trade licence before it can accept customers. Categories that carry more risk are checked more closely.
- Staff never see a customer’s full phone number.
Children as customers
The service is not directed at children. Where a child may be in the queue (clinics, schools, government counters and higher-risk categories), the ticket page and the WhatsApp message say: “If you’re under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to join for you.”
Reporting
- Anyone can report a concern without an account. Choosing “A child may be at risk” pauses the business immediately and alerts the founder.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first (999 in the UAE).
- In the UAE, child-protection concerns can also be raised with the Ministry of Interior Child Protection Centre. [Lawyer: confirm the correct reporting bodies, hotline numbers and any mandatory reporting duty]
What we do with a report
- Pause the business’s public QR codes at once.
- Place the account and related records on legal hold so nothing is deleted.
- Review within one working day and escalate to the authorities where required.
- Never alert the reported business before the authorities have been consulted.
